AeroClip (RTA-11)

Live-line device installation by drone, flown from the ground. The RTA-11 airframe and AeroClip payload install bird diverters and powerline markers on energised conductors, with the line still live. No outage, no climbers, no helicopter.

Built here, for work that had no tool

Fully autonomous, with a pilot in the loop.

The aircraft maps the span, finds the conductor, flies the approach, docks, installs, withdraws and returns. The pilot supervises and fine-corrects alignment — which is the honest description and also the harder engineering problem.

The job it replaces

Fitting a diverter to a conductor traditionally means one of three things: take an outage and send a climber, mobilise a helicopter crew, or leave the line unmarked. All three are expensive, and two of them put people next to energised steel.

AeroClip removes the choice. The drone flies the span, docks on the conductor, sets the device and withdraws — with the line still energised, no switching request, and a crew of two working span to span.

No outages, no climbers, no helicopter crews.

AIRFRAME ONLY

The RTA-11 airframe on its own.

The airframe under AeroClip is also supplied on its own. Open ArduPilot architecture, RTK centimetre positioning, guarded rotors and an integrated payload deck, ready for a sensor, a manipulator or a payload we design with you.

Brief us on what it needs to carry and we will tell you whether the RTA-11 or the larger RTA-15 AeroTank is the right frame.
